Matt Golinski Recovery Fund

Every Australian has heard the tragic story of Queensland Chef Matt Golinski who lost his wife and young family in a house fire on Christmas night. Matt himself received third degree burns to 40% of his body and remains in an induced coma in Royal Brisbane Hospital.

Matt is a former colleague and close friend of Windy Point executive chef and co-owner Justin Miles who worked under Matt at Ricky Ricardo’s before both moved into their own business.

Matt’s friends, family and colleagues have set up the Matt Golinski Recovery Fund intending to raise sufficient money to ensure that Matt can focus on getting well and dealing with the terrible emotional trauma without any financial pressure.

Windy Point Restaurant will host a six course degustation fund raising dinner on Sunday March 18, 2012 at 7.00 pm $100 per person food and wine — in addition items have been generously donated for a silent auction.

In an overwhelming response from Windy Point staff and suppliers they are able to disburse 100% of monies taken at this dinner to the Matt Golinski Recovery Fund.

If you are unable come to the dinner it is possible to donate $100 AUD or any amount you feel is appropriate straight into the fund.

Windy Point Cafe - Changed Hours of Operation

The Café is now open Sundays from 9am to 4pm and has closed Mondays.

Sundays enjoy a casual coffee, all day Breakfast, Brunch and long Lunch with a special value for money menu featuring fresh Hill's produce, organic where possible.
